Step into Pipistrelle Nook, a sanctuary designed to help you “echolocate” back to a slower pace of life. This authentic Mongolian yurt offers a unique blend of heritage craftsmanship and rustic luxury, making it a perfect romantic hideaway for couples or a cozy adventure for a family of four.

The Retreat

Inside, you’ll find a stunning interior, inspired by the soft textures and earthy tones of the surrounding countryside. The yurt is lined with traditional sheep-wool felt and overlaid with silk, all lashed together and set upon a raised wooden platform that offers sweeping views across the rolling hills.

Whether you are watching the sunset or waiting for our resident Pipistrelle bats to begin their evening dance, the view from Pipistrelle Nook is unmatched.

Warmth & Ambience

Even on a misty Spring night, Pipistrelle Nook is a haven of warmth. You can stoke the wood-burning stove (logs and fire guard provided) or click on the electric heater for instant comfort. The space is beautifully lit with a mix of fairy and electric lighting, creating a magical glow as the stars come out.

Your Private Living Space

The Dining Cabin: Just steps from your yurt is your fully enclosed, private Dining Cabin. Featuring its own wood-burning stove, it’s the ultimate “indoor-outdoor” space for long dinners and late-night chats—no matter the British weather!
The Kitchen: Located within 5 metres of your yurt, your private kitchen is fully equipped with an electric mini-oven, fridge-freezer, and all the crockery and cookware you need to whip up a local feast.
Private Washroom: No “roughing it” here. You have your own well-appointed washroom featuring an instant hot shower, flushing toilet, and fresh hand towels a short walk from the yurt.
Outdoors: To fully enjoys the views of nature, there is an outside seating area with charcoal barbecue and fire pit, complete with marshmallow forks for toasting.

Why the name “Pipistrelle Nook”?

We named this yurt after our smallest night-time visitors. These tiny bats are a sign of a healthy, thriving environment. On summer evenings, keep a lookout and you might just see them darting across the meadow as they hunt.

Introducing one of the Meadow Lake Glamping characters, Pipkin Nightwhispher. “I’m Pipkin Nightwhisper, the official (though self-appointed) Head of Night-time Hospitality here at the glampsite. You’ll usually find me waking up just as you’re thinking about pouring that evening glass of wine. While you’ve been busy exploring the local sights or wandering the meadows of Limes Farm, I’ve been catching a few extra winks in my favourite hollow tree, dreaming of the evening’s sky-dancing.”

Experience the magic of the water’s edge at our Swan Lakeview Yurt. Comprising two beautifully paired yurts—Ceci the Cygnet and Celeste the Swan—this co-located escape is situated just metres apart. It is the perfect setting for large families or groups of friends to gather, offering a contemporary, light-filled interior that feels both airy and incredibly snug.

Whether the mist is rolling off the lake or the stars are reflecting in the water, our large wood-burning stoves (stocked with coal and logs) and electric radiators ensure your retreat stays warm and toasty all night long.

Celeste the Swan

Elegant & Spacious (Sleeps 6) Named after our most graceful lakeside resident, Celeste is the larger of the two yurts, designed for social comfort.

Sleeping: Features two double sofa beds and two single trundle beds.
Amenities: Includes a grand wood-burning stove for cozy evenings, a wardrobe and a large mirror. Equipped with electric lighting and power sockets for all your modern needs.

Ceci the Cygnet

Charming & Cozy (Sleeps 4) Just like a young cygnet, this yurt is full of charm and provides a perfect “nook” for smaller families or couples within your group.

Sleeping: Features a comfortable double bed and two single sofabeds.
Amenities: Elegantly furnished with bedside tables and lamps, a mirror, a traditional settle, and a clothes rail. Complete with fairy lighting for a magical night-time glow.

The Grand Dining Cabin: A fully enclosed space featuring a picnic bench, a second wood-burning stove, and fairy lighting. There is even a fridge/freezer here to keep your drinks perfectly chilled.
Under the Stars: Step outside to enjoy our giant benches, fire bowl, and BBQ area. It’s the ultimate spot to watch the sunset over the water or engage in some late-night stargazing.

Cooking & Dining

Your designated kitchenette is ready for any feast, equipped with an electric mini-oven, toaster, kettle, and all the crockery and glassware you’ll need. For your convenience, a separate washing-up area is located nearby, featuring an additional fridge for extra storage.

A New Name on the Water: Why We Became Celeste & Ceci

If you’ve stayed with us before, you might remember this yurt by a different name. But as we watched the seasons turn and the life on our lake flourish, we realised the yurt already had a name—it just hadn’t been written down yet. Swan Lakeview is the collective name for the two co-located yurts, the larger being Celeste the swan and the smaller being Ceci the Cygnet.

We are delighted to introduce the Celeste & Ceci yurts, named after our most elegant permanent residents.

Why the Change?

We chose to rename this space to celebrate the connection and peace that the lake provides.

The Spirit of Family: Just as the swans glide around the lakes, this yurt is a place for families to bond, and for everyone to slow down to “swan speed.”
A Room with a View: From your deck, you are in the front row for Celeste’s morning patrol. By naming the yurt after them, we’re inviting you to feel like part of their world for a few days.
Lakeside Harmony: The names Celeste (meaning “heavenly”) and Ceci (meaning “blind to the world’s noise”) perfectly capture the feeling of being tucked away in our little slice of paradise.

Nesting at the Retreat

When you stay in Celeste & Ceci, we hope you find the same tranquility they do. Keep an eye out for a flash of white feathers on the water—it’s just the neighbours dropping by to say hello.

(formerly Moroccan Yurt)

A Vibrant Gathering Space for Groups & Families

Welcome to Robin Roundhouse, one of our most social retreats. Named after the cheerful birds that frequent our orchards (and occasionally enjoy a “Wassail” treat!), this yurt is designed for connection. Whether you’re hosting a big family reunion or a getaway with friends, the Roundhouse offers a generous, soul-warming space for up to eight guests.

A Taste of the Exotic in the Countryside

Step inside to find a striking interior. Richly colored cushions, intricate rugs, and glowing ceiling lanterns create an atmosphere that feels both exotic and incredibly cozy.

The flexible sleeping arrangements include one double sofa bed, two double futons, and two single futons—which double as comfortable lounge seating during the day. To keep things toasty, the yurt features a large wood-burning stove (stocked with logs, coal, and kindling) plus an electric radiator for that “instant” touch of warmth.

The Ultimate Social Hub: The Dining Cabin

The Robin Roundhouse experience extends into your massive, private Enclosed Dining Cabin. It’s the perfect spot for “Huzzah!”-worthy feasts.

Relax & Dine: Features table and benches for indoor dining, and its own wood-burning stove to keep the conversation going long into the night.
The Feast: Outdoors fire up the Charcoal BBQ (utensils and fuel provided) or enjoy the fire pit with marshmallow forks as the sun sets over the meadow.

Why Robin Roundhouse?

You might notice that one of our favorite retreats has a new name. What was once known as Moroccan Yurt is now the Robin Roundhouse—and the reason for the change is tucked into the very heart of our farm’s history.

The Shape of Connection

A “Roundhouse” is more than just a building; it is an ancient symbol of equality and togetherness. In a circle, there is no “head of the table”—everyone is gathered equally around the warmth of the central fire. As one of our larger yurts, this space has always been the “hub” where families feast and friends reunite, making the “Roundhouse” title a perfect fit for its social soul. It it often hired in conjunction with Pipistrelle Nook.

The Guardian of the Orchard

The Robin has long been the unofficial guardian of our orchards and hedgerows. If you’ve ever spent a morning gardening or walking our trails, you’ll know that the robin is the first to say hello, following you with a curious eye and a cheerful song.

In local folklore, the robin is a symbol of hospitality, luck, and the turning of the seasons.

A New Chapter

Renaming the yurt is our way of weaving the story of the land into your stay. When you step inside the Robin Roundhouse, you aren’t just entering a yurt; you’re stepping into a circle of warmth, guarded by the friendliest bird in the garden.

We invite you to gather ’round, stoke the fire, and perhaps leave a few crumbs on the porch for the real Robin who keeps watch nearby.

Nestled in a private, quiet corner near the water’s edge, Hedgehog Hollow is the ultimate secret getaway. With breathtaking views across the rolling hills, this authentic Mongolian yurt is designed for those who want to “burrow” into nature without sacrificing a single creature comfort.

Whether you are hosting a large family gathering or a group of friends, the Hollow offers a luxurious, private retreat where you can truly switch off.

The centerpiece of this yurt is its four magnificent Dragon Poles, which lend an air of ancient majesty to the space. The décor is inspired by the rich, earthy tones and textures of the Bramble Hedgerows that surround the site, creating a sumptuous and warm atmosphere.

🦔 From Thorns to Toes: Welcome to Hedgehog Hollow

You may have noticed a change in the air—and on the door! What was once known as Bramble has been reimagined as Hedgehog Hollow.

While the brambles still grow nearby (providing us with delicious autumn blackberries!), we wanted this yurt to celebrate the secret, snuffling world that lives right at its feet.

Why Hedgehog Hollow?

The hedgehog is the “Little King of the Undergrowth.” They are symbols of resilience, protection, and gentle curiosity—the exact feelings we want you to experience during your stay.

The Safe Haven: Just as a hedgehog seeks out a “hollow” or a snug nest of leaves to feel safe and warm, this yurt is your private sanctuary. It’s a place to curl up, tuck away from the busy world, and “hibernate” in comfort.
The Night-time Gardener: Hedgehogs are the quiet heroes of our meadows. While you’re sleeping, they are busy patrolling the gardens, keeping the ecosystem in balance.
A Prickly Transformation: “Bramble” described the plants, but “Hedgehog Hollow” describes the life within them. It’s a nod to our commitment to wildlife conservation on the farm.

Meet Barnaby Bristlecone, the most industrious resident of Hedgehog Hollow. While Pipkin handles the air and Celeste manages the water, Barnaby is our “Chief of the Ground Floor.” He’s a small fellow with a big heart and a very twitchy nose, usually found wearing his favourite tweed waistcoat (which, he’ll have you know, is excellent for warding off the morning dew).
